allthelittlebeagles: Today is World AIDS Day. as of 2009, an estimated 33.3 million adults are living with HIV/AIDS. 30.8 million of these individuals are women. 2.5 million are children. 2.6 million adults became newly infected with HIV in 2009. each year, over 400,000 children become infected. 16.6 million children aged 0-17 were orphaned in 2009 due to HIV/AIDS. Since the beginning of the epidemic, nearly 30 million people have died due to AIDS-related causes. Act up, fight AIDS.
